The principal role of sports in most of our groups shows that our philosophy revolves around the sports spirit and its values: companionship, respect, fight to improve himself and teamwork.
History
Castillo de Layos was born in 1985 on a family run agricultural farm. Our initial program was a summer course where we combined sports, nature and english.
Its location was in the family home castle, that invited all the kids to dream... this is from where the center got its name.
For three summers the castle was the base of our programs.
The peak of the outdoor activities, school trips seeking for direct knowledge of the rural world and of nature, predicted an attractive future fort a business in the camp of leisure time and in education.
In the 4th year we decided to leave our wonderful 15th century castle to rehabilitate the adjacent working houses. This is where the whole family got together and our activity started to be incompatible with the intimity of family.
We started to do a construction, adapted to our activity.
Nowadays more than 2000 children and youth come to Layos, including the summer camp, a youth hostel throughout the year, where we organize programs of leisure- and free time, culture and sports.
